C'etait woh woh woh magique...
Photos des que possible.
I bet you've understood now that I'm not really fond of Australian people but lately I had 2 amazing strange encounters. After Beeing in the centre, I flew to Perth and drove to the north along the West coast to Shark Bay.
In Shark Bay, they have snakes in the pristine water of Shell Beach, spiders large like plates, dolphins (not seen by me) and stromatolites. Stromatolites are one of the main reasons I'm in Australia. I wanted so much to meet them, don't know why... They live in Hamelin pool, a kind of natural highly salted pool, close to the shore, they are billions of millions of billions of them and I totally fell in love with them. I went to meet them in magical sunset, in morning, afternoon and I still would be there if it wasn't soooo hot. They are cyanobacterias, they build kind of rocks and the oldests there are 3,500 years old BUT they are the descendants of the very very very first kind of life in earth. Without them, we wouldn't exist, nor the animals, nor the trees, nobody. They made the first oxygen on earth and allowed other forms of life. What's wonderful is that in Hamelin pool, they still make oxygen and when the tide is high, you can see the actual tiny bubbles coming from them and breath them. It is such an incredible sensation. I regretted leaving them but I had to, I began to boil.
I went south as fast as possible and ended up in Rockingham, not so beautiful little city by a beach and a factory which raffine nickel (arrrgh). Not much to do except one of their "wild encounters" tours. I left early yesterday morning on a boat with 10 others to meet and SWIM with wild dolphins. Wich we did, in small groups, after having left the bay and found some of them willing to play a little with humans in black wet suits and wearing a shark shield.
And that was amazing, I saw, one or two yards from me, a mother with her calf, and 5-6 others circling, diving around us, I heard their sonars and the funny sounds they make, apparently happy to meet us. It was so moving...
Photos ASAP.
