J'ai passe une journee incroyable aujourd'hui. Je me suis reveillee apres une pas trop bonne nuit, un peu deprimee, pour constater qu'il pleuvait plutot fort. J'ai tout de meme decide de m'en tenir a mon programme, prendre le Waterfalls Way, a l'est d'Armindale et visiter le maximum de cascades possibles (les escaliers des Montagnes Bleues me manquent). Le temps de m'appreter, la pluie avait cesse. J'ai balade le long de la premiere cascade, Wollomombi et sur le chemin du retour, un enorme eucalyptus est tombe a 20 metres de moi. Craac, craac, craac, boum. Pas plus de 3 secondes, je me suis sentie heureuse de ne pas avoir ete en dessous.
Sur le chemin de Cathedral Rocks, j'ai pris une route en terre et un moment donne, au milieu de la route, il y avait un tout petit kangourou. Je me suis arretee et il n'a pas bouge. Je suis sortie de la voiture et il a traverse le chemin pour rejoindre sa maman. Je l'ai suivi et je suis tombee dans une clairiere ou toute la famille se trouvait, la mere, le pere, les freres et soeurs. Pas un n'a bouge et ils m'ont meme permis de les prendre en photo en train de faire leur petit business de kangourou. Merci les gars.
Un peu plus loin, je me suis arretee pour prendre en photo un magnifique cedre, a l'entree d'une station a betail, Guy Fawles Station et j'ai remarque deux chevalles (comment est-ce qu'on dit encore?), dont une etait couchee, manisfestement en train de souffrir. J'ai realise qu'elle etait en train d'accoucher et j'ai eu si peur de la laisser faire seule, meme si c'est un grand fortcheval australien a toutes epreuves, que je suis restee et attendu avec sa copine. En moins de 20 minutes, elle a donne naissnce a une toute petit fragile bebe cheval. Je l'ai vue faire ses premiers pas (a reculons). C'etait tres emouvant. J'ai rencontre ses proprietaires plus tard en ville, Greg et Deb et je sais maintenant qu'elle s'appelle Diamond.

I had an amazing day today. I woke up after a not too good night and saw it was raining (heavily). On the top of that I was a little depressed. I decided to stick with my program anyway, which was to take the Waterfalls Way, east of Armindale and visit as much waterfalls as possible (I miss The Blue Mountains stairs). By the time I was ready to go, the rain stopped. I visited the first of the Waterfalls, Wollomombi and on my way back, a huge eucalytus tree fell 20 yards next to me. Crrr crrr crrr booom. Not more than 3 seconds. I was happy I wasn't under.
On my way to the next site, Cathedral rocks, I took a gravel road for 5 miles and a very little kangaroo was in the middle of the road. I stopped, he didn't move. I went of the car, he just crossed the road, going back to his mummy. I followed and I arrived in the middle of the whole family, Mum, Dad, bothers and sisters. Nobody moved and they allowed me to take pictures of them, doing their kangaroo things. Thank you very much guys.
After Cathedral Rocks I saw a huge and beautiful cedar tree which was at the entrance of a cattle station, Guy Fawles Station. There were also 2 mares and I noticed that one of them was lying in pain. I realised that she had began to give birth. I was so scared, leaving her doing that all by herself, even if she is a very strong Australian horse, that I stay and I waited with her girlfriend. In no more than 20 minutes, she gave birth to a very fragile little baby girl horse. I looked at her making her first steps (backwards only). It was really moving. Afterwards, I met the owners in town, Greg and Deb. I know now that her name is Diamond.
Congratulations Diamond, you have a beautiful little girl.
