La cote nord/The north coast

As soon as you cross Golden Gate Bridge, you're not in town anymore. 15 miles north and you're in Muir Wood, a remaining part of primitive forest of Redwood pines, thinner than sequoias but much more taller. You suddenly feel like a smurf, a tiny little person (only not blue).
Biiiig trees... Then you choose (why?) to take the highway 101, four o'clock, traffic jam. Exhausted after 30miles, you stop at KOA campground in Petaluma and you spend the night
listenning the sweet sound of the highway. That morning, I swore to myself that the next night will be a quiet one. I took the deserted highway 1 and arrived in KOA Manchester after an enchanting trip along the magnificent coast. The campground was deserted, quiet, perfect. Only that I was so focused on building my little Big Agnes properly, I didn't listen very carefully. As soon as I was in bed I heard the deafenning sound of the ocean, 200 yards from where I was. A noise so powerful, I first didn't understand what It was. Never mind I slept well. I believe some sounds are better than others. One afternoon riding on the beach, with rancher Toby (yes I did it again, can't help myself anymore, thanks Ron & Phyllis ;) walking in the waves of mighty Pacific, one morning wandering in lovely village of Elk, some more miles and I arrived in Trinidad, following Karen & Chris advice (thanks BTW). A tiny little port, with a bay which looks like a mini Halong Bay.
This morning, I went to Agate beach. An old man was lying on the beach, looking for something. I asked him if he needed help, but he was collecting white, green and yellow gems. He showed me how to find them. I didn't find gold in Montana but I found agates in California. My tiny little backpocket is now full of little jewels. Pictures as soon as I find a computer.
